Skin Medica Ultra Sheer Moisturizer

Just in time for the warmer weather, we are profiling our Skin Medica Ultra Sheer Moisturizer. This light moisturizer provides oil-free hydration and antioxidant protection. It is an oil-free and fragrance-free formula that effectively hydrates skin while antioxidants, vitamin C and vitamin E protect against free radical damage.  This is a great product for the warmer months, as you will possibly want to switch over from your heavier moisturizer, especially if you have oily, acne-prone, or combination skin. This can be used both morning and evening.

May Skincare Tip

With the warmer weather here, if you are like most New Yorkers you travel by foot. Sweat, dirt, and pollution build up on the skin, so it is the perfect time to up your exfoliation in your skin care routine . Regular exfoliation of three to four times a week helps keep the pores clean and increase cellular turnover and healthy blood circulation. Exfoliation can be performed with a scrub, a Clarisonic, an enzyme, or one of many different types of peels. Peels, depending on the type, offer a heavier type of exfoliation and have other added benefits like increasing collagen production , decreasing hyperpigmentation, and softening fine lines and wrinkles and killing acne, and the milder ones can be done as often as every two to four weeks. There are some peels on the market that can be used at home, but I advise you to be very careful and check with your skincare professional first. Exfoliation is a great addition to any skincare routine and a must as we get older and ouir skin cell turnover slows down.

Even though the warmer weather has been surrounding us for quite some time, the staff at Gotham Skincare would like to wish all of you a happy Spring! We are very excited to introduce to you one of our new medical aestheticians, Amanda Callan! Amanda has been working in the aesthetics field for quite some time and specializes in medical aesthetics, which includes medical-grade peels, skin treatments, laser treatments, and has vast product knowledge especially with Obagi and NIA24. She is excited to be a part of Gotham and looks forward to educating each patient about the right skincare routine for them as well as catering to your needs and budget.
